This 4-week book study will explore the application and effectiveness of explicit instruction strategies.

Participants will meet weekly on Zoom from 3:30-5:00 PM to discuss assigned readings, application and implementation and to share ideas. Additional resources and course materials will be housed on Schoology. Upon registration, participants will receive a zoom invite and Schoology course password via email.
This study is applicable for preschool to secondary teachers, principals and supervisors, in both general and special education.
Topics covered will include:
• Foundations of Explicit Instruction
• Designing Lessons through Skills, Strategies, Vocabulary, Concepts and Rules
• Organizing for Instruction
• Delivering Instruction
• Providing Appropriate Independent Practice
Participants should purchase and have in hand a printed or electronic copy by the first discussion on March 7th, 2018 and be prepared to discuss the reading in chapter one: Exploring the Foundations of Explicit Instruction.
